Fifty Kids Productions

In 2008, my friend and colleague, Anu Gunn, asked me to adapt  a short play I’d written in New York back in 1999 titled Wedding. I agreed and wrote the film script. We brought two other producers on board: Katia Bokor, who also stars in the film, and Roopa Shree Gevaji.

We cast the smaller roles in the film, assembled a minimal crew consisting of mostly our friends helping us out, and shot the film in one (long) night.

We then worked on editing the footage on and off over the course of the next several years. We could not have done it without the generosity of our talented, uber-nice screenwriter pal, Terri Rossio, who donated the use of his editing bay for free.

After countless hours of editing, with Anu doing the lion’s share, we were ultimately able to create the story we wanted to tell, which centers on an unlikely connection between two desperate, lonely people. The sound design, created by David Abercrombie, adds the finishing touch on creating the film’s raw, emotionally charged tone.

We’re grateful for the genuinely engaging performances our cast delivered as well as for all the help we received from friends and colleagues both during production and in post. We’re proud of our little film and look forward to sharing it with as many people as possible.
