Hello and welcome to my site!
My love for children's books began during my early childhood. I'd borrow upwards of ten to twenty picture books at a time from the library and most times, would devour them in one sitting!
As I got older, I fell in love with novels such as The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Chronicles of Narnia and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory series. At the same time, my love for Indiana Jones films and the Star Wars film series sparked my lifelong love of science fiction, archaeology, ancient civilizations, mythology and world cultures.
I'd discovered my passion for writing as an adolescent, starting with poetry, short stories and stage plays. As an adult, I've written music and restaurant reviews, interviews, arts and leisure articles for magazines and political blogs for Huffington Post.
As a professional actor, I was a volunteer reader via the Screen Actors Guild Book Pals Program. Some of my favorite books to share with elementary school children were the works of late author & illustrator Gerald McDermott, who elegantly captured the magic of folk tales from cultures around the world.
Reading to students made me fall in love with the magic of children's books all over again. I began writing stories specifically for children. I wrote and illustrated a self-published rhyming picture book titled "You’re Everything Everywhere All the Time", which I am delighted to share with children during reading events at elementary schools throughout Los Angeles or online via zoom to children across the country. During these reading events, I also sing the song version of my book while playing guitar as well as promote creative writing and literacy.
Though, as a multi-genre writer, I write screenplays, stage plays, tele-plays, I continue to find joy in writing picture books and middle grade novels for children.
